He graduated from Kent State University and was a star player on the golf team. Curtis won the American Amateur in 1999 and 2’000, as well as the Player Amateur in 2’000. In 2’000 He turned professional and played in a first match on the Hooters Tour. Curtis earned his PGA Tour card and won The 2003 Open Championship. He has also crowned the 2003 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. Curtis has won four total PGA events, also winning the Book Allen Classic in 2006, the 84 Lumber Classic in 2006, and the Valery Texas Open in 2012. Curtis has also represented the United States in international competitions and won the Eisenhower Cup, Palmer Cup, and Ryder Cup. He also finished 2nd at the PGA Championship in 2008.
