She was born and raised in Belmont, New York, and had three younger brothers. Her father died as a teenager, and later in life, she lost Her mother in a car crash. Cara began her boxing career in her family garage at the age of five with her father, who was a former Marine. Cara wrestled in high school and college and graduated from Host University with a Bachelor of Arts in communications.
