Daewon Song is a Korean-born professional skateboarder who has a net worth of $3’000’000. Daewon Song was born on February 19, 1975, in Seoul, South Korea. The Song is recognized for his skillful skating skills. He is the co-owner of Almost Skateboards alongside Rodney Mullen and also skates for the company along with other sponsored team riders. Song was named skateboard of the Year 2006 by Thrasher magazine, a title which is widely considered one of the most significant honors in skateboarding. Song started skateboarding at the age of 14. When his parents were separated for a two-month period, he was given his first skateboard by his mother, later sponsored by a skateboard shop in the South Bay Area of Los Angeles, California, called Sporting Ideas. Prior to this, Song received attention for his artistic abilities and won drawing contests. He also exhibited at a very young age in commercial art. Song became sponsored by World Industries at the age of sixteen years and appeared in numerous video productions for the company, including Love Child (1992), in which his first hard flip was caught on film. Jensen Song revealed that he seriously considered abandoning skateboarding between the years 1996 and 1997 following an ankle injury. In 1998, Song founded the Matrix Clothing apparel company with fellow professional skateboarder Tim Gavin (retired) and the Distribution company, Podium Distribution (the Dunlap brothers, Kevin and Brian). As of March 2011, Song had released twelve signature Shoe models with DVS Shoes (formerly the DVS Shoe Co. A brand he has been working on ever since its inception. After nine years with World Industries, Song left the company in 1999 to start DECA Skateboards with a team that included Chris Ha slam, JB Millet Shiloh Great house, and Marcus McBride.
