He drove the Ford Texaco-Havoline 28 for Robert Yates Racing, competing in the Winston Cup Series. Davey Allison was the eldest child of Bobby Allison, and his brother Donnie Allison and family friend Red Farmer joined Neil Bennett in the Alabama Gang of racers. Davey Allison won the Daytona 500 in 1992 and the coca-cola 600 in 1991. He won The Winston 500 in 1987, 1989, and 1992, and The Winston 500 in 1991 and 1992. He was posthumously the Winner of the 1984 AREA Balladeer Super Car Series Hoosier Superspeedway Challenge and the 1993 IRON Champion. Allison received many awards, including the 1987 Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year, and the 1983 AREA Balladeer Super Car Series Rookie of the Year, being named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers and being inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Davey Allison died in a helicopter crash on July 13, 1993, at the age of 32. During his career, he earned approximately 6’000’000.
