Darren Campbell has helped me out a lot with my sprinting mechanics. These are things I’ve always wanted to do, but neglected as I am already fast and strong.
I have done some bad things – things I can’t and won’t talk about. Nothing that bad, but if that stuff was printed in the papers, they’d paint me as a bad guy. I couldn’t be Tevin Campbell, Mr. Perfect. But I really don’t want to be Tevin Campbell, Mr. Perfect.
There wasn’t anyone who was specifically taking me under their wing. I definitely looked up to people, though, one major person being Naomi Campbell, of course. That’s, like, a given.
I think with movies I am really connecting to the Joseph Campbell idea of the collective unconscious.
Well, I think certain roles are chosen for us. The moment I read Pete Campbell I thought: I can do this, this is mine. And in Money, too. The truth is I turn down a lot of projects. If a character doesn’t have some kind of internal struggle, it’s no good for me.
I remember my first Arsenal training session and Sol Campbell going straight through me. I had a bit of a bruise, but I got straight back up and carried on. I didn’t want to show them that it hurt.
I’m very fond of the British cinema. I’m a big fan of Martin Campbell and Daniel Craig. I actually find Daniel very inspirational, especially on the physical side of things. He really inspired me to get back into shape when I started to add on a few pounds. I think he’s a great role model.
I grew up looking up a lot to ’90s supermodels like Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. I just thought those women were such cool role models because they had a good body ideal, too.
Luther Campbell is the only person that has ever paid me for sampling me. I’m out for the rest of ’em, but the young man paid me.
I believe in mythology. I guess I share Joseph Campbell’s notion that a culture or society without mythology would die, and we’re close to that.
It’s difficult to learn to play these different disabled characters – Campbell in ‘Switched At Birth’ was paralysed from the waist down – but it’s nice to be able to step into their world and live in these characters’ shoes and to be able to play them, because it gives you a different look at life.

I was approached by Sue Campbell to give my thoughts on whether I’d be interested in being the next head coach of the women’s national team. Straight away, I was unbelievably excited and honoured to be approached by Sue.
I understand why the Tories will be gunning for Alastair Campbell because they fear his campaigning skills.
I simply loathe the crude 1960s distinctions between commerce and art. For me, Warhol and pop obliterated all of those separations – that was the whole point of the Brillo Boxes and Campbell’s Soup Cans. And believe it or not, in 2009, moronic journalists are still saying to me, ‘Your work is so commercial.’
